Liverpool have been linked with a move for Serie A wonderkid Assane Diao.

The Reds are expected to have a busy summer transfer window, with attacking options high on the list.

Several names have been linked with a summer move to Anfield, including Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak.

The Swedish international has been one of the most discussed players in Europe this season due to his form in front of goal.

But he will not come cheap, with Newcastle slapping an over £100m price tag on him, and the fact that Liverpool will have to battle Arsenal for his signature makes it a difficult transfer.

While a possible move for Isak remains tentative, Arne Slot’s side have set their sights on teenage sensation Assane Diao.

The 19-year-old is one of the most sought-after young players in Europe and is attracting interest from Europe’s elites despite only moving to Como in January.

Diao moved from Real Betis for a club-record fee of €12 million in January and has made an immediate impact in Serie A, scoring four goals in his first four matches.

The Spanish-born talent has represented Spain at various youth levels, including the U-18, U-19, and U-21 teams.

Originally from Senegal, the teenager was part of the squad that won the U-19 European Championship in 2024.

According to Senegalese journalist Khadim Diakhate, Liverpool are not the only Premier League club keen on Diao.

Newcastle United are also said to be interested in the 19-year-old forward, who can play across the front three.
